Blog #3

Faculty members and staff can have a big impact on people in their college careers. They teach us, help us when we need it, and let us know about new and cool opportunities.
I am a business-MIS major, but I have yet to take any MIS courses because I have to complete the pre-business program first. My MIS instructors are the people that I plan to get to know well because I will be having many classes with them, they are in my major area, there may be possibilities for research with them, and hopefully they will like me enough to write my letters of recommendation.
I'm taking pretty general classes right now, so I haven't got to know any of my professors, but I do have some pretty good mentors! *cough cough Shane and Heidi cough* [cookies on Wednesday, Heidi? :)] My business class mentor Jamison has been a good mentor too. He has been pretty cool and good with helping to get to know the business building and how the business program works.
Although I haven't got to know any of my professors yet, I plan to start when I get more into my major area. The mentors that I've had have been a really good, have helped a lot, and have given some great tips on what kind of things I should do.
